Detecting, Defeating and Attacking the IED Threat

Since the start of the Iraq War, Improvised Explosive Devices have been responsible for approximately 40% of American soldier deaths. Although their presence has dropped in Iraq, their use and efficacy in Afghanistan has skyrocketed, given the movement of our military. IED attacks in Afghanistan are expected to increase by 25-30% this coming year- posing an extremely time-sensitive crisis.

The 3rd Counted IED Summit will tackle this critical issue head-on with a three -pronged approach:

  • Discuss the threat posed by IEDs in Afghanistan
  • Inform you about the technical solutions that are available to “attack the network” and “defeat the device”
